Rita Peters, LMFT

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

Rita Peters, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in both Tennessee and Utah.  Rita meets with clients from diverse backgrounds but having the same foundational need for emotional wellness.

Rita’s career has developed over the years as she served adolescents in residential treatment, adults in a correctional setting, and providing recovery treatment for those with substance abuse issues.  She has also worked with younger children in the foster care system. Though the issues and experiences differed, she found that the underlying problems often dealt with attachment, trauma, and lack of self-worth.

As an Army wife for several years, living in areas throughout the U. S. and in Germany and Korea, Rita found stability in developing connections with other families living a ‘gypsy-like’ lifestyle and understands the challenges of being a military family.  She has also provided group and individual therapy for those who have returned from deployments and their families.

Rita also shares her love of horses in her therapies with clients.  She provides Equine Supported Therapy for those living near the Clarksville, TN area who want to explore greater understanding and connection with these amazing animals.  She is available to meet for telehealth sessions, without the horses 😊.  You can read more about her at www.3willows.net.

You can email Rita directly at 3wllws@gmail.com or contact this office.

Kristin Trudeau, LPC, LADAC-II, CRFC

Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselor, Certified First Responder Counselor

Hi! I’m Kristin, and I’m so glad you’re here.

I have a specific passion for working with first responders as I have loved ones who protect and serve and have first-hand experience as a LEO wife.  I have worked to develop a deep understanding of the unique challenges and stressors that first responders face daily.

I like to think of myself as authentic, non-judgmental, and laid back.  I may even go as far to say funny, but my kids would probably disagree. I don't believe that therapy has to be rigid, uptight and boring. Humor has a very important role and swearing is most definitely therapeutic. The therapeutic foundation is based on the relationship between client and therapist.  It's my favorite part about what I do - building trust and having the privilege to walk this journey with you.  It is an absolute honor to work with first responders and be entrusted to listen to their story.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-MHSP) and a level II  Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC II) in the state of Tennessee, as well as a Certified First Responder Counselor (CFRC).  I am trained in EMDR and have completed 50 hours of training in mindfulness-based stress reduction.  I completed my B.A in Criminal Justice and my M.A in Counseling Psychology.  I have had the privilege of working alongside clients since 2008, building relationships of acceptance and trust.

My counseling style is interactive and warm, keeping it real with humor and truth.  I provide psychoeducation to educate when needed, as well as work within the therapeutic modalities of EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution focused therapy within a client centered approach.

I offer flexible scheduling (morning/afternoon/evenings) to help assist first responders fit sessions into their already busy lives.

I welcome you to check out my website at www.franklinteletherapy.com for more information, or feel free to email inquiries to Kristin@FranklinTeletherapy.com, or call/text 615-852-7299.
