MADISON ELIE-THOMPSON, LCPC, LPC

Madison Elie-Thompson is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania. She specializes in trauma-informed care for first responders, veterans, healthcare professionals, and adults (18+). Coming from a first responder family herself, Madison has been dedicated to supporting the first responder and veteran community since 2018.

While her main focus is trauma, Madison also helps clients navigate a range of concerns like depression, anxiety, and substance use. She's passionate about the work she does and values personal and professional growth. Madison is trained in several evidence-based approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). In her private practice, she offers a supportive space where clients can feel heard, understood, and empowered in their healing journey.

BRAQUELLE MURPHY, LCPC

My name is Braquelle Murphy, MS, LCPC (she, her). I’m a multiracial action-oriented psychotherapist born, raised, and based in Maryland. I currently reside and operate my practice in Silver Spring, Maryland, located on the traditional and ancestral homelands of the  Piscataway and Nacotchtank people. I work with both individuals and couples utilizing trauma-informed care, Ego State therapy, EMDR, Animal Assisted Services, and more.

In addition to individual and relationship therapy services, I offer EMDR intensives, individual and group consultation to EMDR-trained clinicians, facilitation of EMDR basic training, mental health assessments to law enforcement officers, and clinical presentations.

My journey to creating Dazed Therapy began in childhood, watching my father serve as a police officer. I admired his dedication to something he truly believed in, and it inspired me to find a path that resonated deeply with me. I have always known that I wanted to be in a role where I could connect with others, hold space for their stories, and grow alongside them. Helping people and creating spaces for healing has always felt like the right path, and it’s an honor to hold space.

Being a military spouse has shaped me in ways I never expected, and I’ve experienced firsthand the emotional and physical toll military life can take on a person. Because of that, I’m passionate about supporting the military community through clinical care, as well as offering employment and (eventually)EMDR training opportunities for military spouses. I truly understand some of the unique challenges military families face and I’m committed to helping them navigate those difficulties with the support they truly deserve.

DR. JANA TRAN, PHD

Dr. Jana Tran is a licensed psychologist who earned a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of Houston. She first worked with combat Veterans at the Michael E. Debakey VA Medical Center, specializing in evidence-based treatments for PTSD, including Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, and CBT for Insomnia and Nightmares. Next, as a staff psychologist at the Houston Fire Department, she responded to critical incidents and provided therapy to first responders, developing an additional specialization in couples therapy. Most recently, she worked at NASA conducting astronaut trainings and mission support.

Dr. Tran is now in full-time private practice, where she integrates her specialties and offers trauma-focused couples therapy. Rather than treating trauma and couples work as separate endeavors, she provides a unified space for exploring how each person's trauma history and learned coping patterns contribute to conflict and disconnection.

Dr. Tran grounds her work in Emotion Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT-C), which involves actively mapping the cycle of conflict, or the pattern of reactions that lead to escalation, so that both partners can see the dynamic clearly and begin to step outside of it. She also draws on other frameworks, such as the Gottman Method, to help couples build concrete skills for de-escalating conflict and engaging in productive repair conversations. Throughout this work, couples develop a shared language and a clearer path toward rebuilding emotional safety.

With her background in PTSD treatment, Dr. Tran helps couples identify trauma triggers and protective responses and connect them to their conflict cycle. Couples often discover how one partner's wounds directly activate the other's. She incorporates approaches such as Somatic Experiencing and Parts Work (or Internal Family Systems) to help partners navigate these raw spots, regulate their nervous systems, and begin to recognize and respond to each other with compassion. As that recognition deepens, so does the connection.

Dr. Tran developed a deep respect and appreciation for operational populations through her years of direct service alongside them. She is passionate about continuing to serve these communities and is committed to the lifelong endeavor of cultural humility. She meets clients with curiosity and an understanding of cultural values such as mission over self, the stigma around help-seeking, and the ways that operational stress can shape both the individual and the relationship at home.

Dr. Tran is licensed in Texas and has the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) in all states except Alaska, California, Hawaii, Iowa, Louisiana, Massachusetts, and New Mexico.
