DR. JANA TRAN, PHD

Dr. Jana Tran is a licensed psychologist who earned a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of Houston. She first worked with combat Veterans at the Michael E. Debakey VA Medical Center, specializing in evidence-based treatments for PTSD, including Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, and CBT for Insomnia and Nightmares. Next, as a staff psychologist at the Houston Fire Department, she responded to critical incidents and provided therapy to first responders, developing an additional specialization in couples therapy. Most recently, she worked at NASA conducting astronaut trainings and mission support.

Dr. Tran is now in full-time private practice, where she integrates her specialties and offers trauma-focused couples therapy. Rather than treating trauma and couples work as separate endeavors, she provides a unified space for exploring how each person's trauma history and learned coping patterns contribute to conflict and disconnection.

Dr. Tran grounds her work in Emotion Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT-C), which involves actively mapping the cycle of conflict, or the pattern of reactions that lead to escalation, so that both partners can see the dynamic clearly and begin to step outside of it. She also draws on other frameworks, such as the Gottman Method, to help couples build concrete skills for de-escalating conflict and engaging in productive repair conversations. Throughout this work, couples develop a shared language and a clearer path toward rebuilding emotional safety.

With her background in PTSD treatment, Dr. Tran helps couples identify trauma triggers and protective responses and connect them to their conflict cycle. Couples often discover how one partner's wounds directly activate the other's. She incorporates approaches such as Somatic Experiencing and Parts Work (or Internal Family Systems) to help partners navigate these raw spots, regulate their nervous systems, and begin to recognize and respond to each other with compassion. As that recognition deepens, so does the connection.

Dr. Tran developed a deep respect and appreciation for operational populations through her years of direct service alongside them. She is passionate about continuing to serve these communities and is committed to the lifelong endeavor of cultural humility. She meets clients with curiosity and an understanding of cultural values such as mission over self, the stigma around help-seeking, and the ways that operational stress can shape both the individual and the relationship at home.

Dr. Tran is licensed in Texas and has the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) in all states except Alaska, California, Hawaii, Iowa, Louisiana, Massachusetts, and New Mexico.

TOMMY ADANALIAN, LCSW, LAC

Stepping out of your comfort zone can be a difficult experience, but in order to grow we must take that leap. My role is to join individuals taking those risks and create a safe place to explore new possibilities. My approach can help people develop new insights into themselves by healing trauma and recognizing their inherent strengths to become more confident in themselves. I also recognize the importance of teaching patients about brain functionality and the meaning of our experiences. I received my Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado where my passion for working in mental health began. While working at the Boulder Juvenile Assessment Center, I realized the need for greater mental health awareness in order to help people improve their life circumstances. This led to my desire to continue my education to better serve those in my community struggling with mental health issues. I received my Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Denver and have continued my work in a variety of settings, including residential treatment facilities, day treatment centers, wilderness settings, schools, disaster settings, and private practice. I am passionate about healing trauma with the power of human connection while also utilizing evidence-based approaches, such as, EMDR, CBT, Solution-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, and Functional Family Therapy. During my free time, I enjoy spending as much time as possible exploring the outdoors. I love mountain biking, backcountry snowboarding, backpacking, and going on adventures with my dog, Dakota. I started Mountain Minds Therapy because I am passionate about mental health and believe that everyone could use support at some point in their lives. I also believe that clinical work is only one way of helping people with mental health injuries. That is why in addition to clinical work, I engage in disaster response, clinical supervision, EMDR consultation, training, and run a wilderness therapy program for first responders/healthcare workers. I feel fortunate to be able to work with people every day who are trying to improve their lives and help them on their journey.

HANNAH HUFFMAN, LPC

Hannah Huffman is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Grand Junction, Colorado. Her holistic approach to working with clients includes Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy. She strives to provide a caring and supportive environment, which helps clients to restore balance and create positive change. She has a special interest in working with burnout, anxiety, depression, compassion fatigue, and posttraumatic stress. Hannah’s passion for working with first responders and law enforcement stems from her time as a crisis clinician in the emergency department. Hannah works with multiple fire departments and law enforcement agencies on the Western Slope to provide critical incident debriefings, individual counseling, wellness checks, and Peer Support Team clinical supervision & training.

Hannah is originally from St. Louis, Missouri (Go Cardinals!) and moved to the Front Range in 2012. Hannah and her husband moved to the Western Slope in 2017. They have two kiddos, dogs, and a handful of chickens. When she’s not busy talking to people about their feelings, you can find her baking something, attempting to keep plants alive, or answering the toddler question “why” for the thousandth time.

RACHEL FIRNENO, LPC, LCPC

I am a licensed therapist and proud Veteran of the U.S. Air Force Reserves, currently based outside of Denver, Colorado, where I’ve lived since 2019 after spending nearly two decades in Texas, living and working in the Killeen/Ft. Hood area. In addition to my own military service, I am the proud daughter/sister/mother/aunt of military members spread out across all of the branches.

Originally from the mountainous region of Southern Utah, I’ve always felt most at peace in nature—fishing, practicing archery, or simply enjoying the seasons. Outside of work, I cherish time with my husband and our dogs, often reading, cooking, or working on my ranch.

My professional journey began with a deep focus on supporting individuals living with Schizophrenia, Major Depressive Disorder, and Bipolar Disorder. These formative experiences shaped my understanding of trauma and PTSD, inspiring a lasting commitment to helping individuals heal, find stability, and reclaim their lives.

While I no longer work directly in severe mental illness, this background continues to inform my trauma-focused approach. I specialize in working with military/veterans, first/second responders, and adults impacted by PTSD, trauma, and dissociative disorders.

My therapeutic style is collaborative, respectful, and rooted in empathy. I utilize evidence-based modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and I am currently an EMDRIA approved consultant-in-training in EMDR. I provide a variety of EMDR services to include standard treatment, extensive, intensives, and recent/group protocols.

I hold board certifications as a National Certified Counselor (NCC), Board Certified-TeleMental Health Provider (BC-TMH), and Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), and am licensed to practice in Colorado, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Florida, and Nevada.

In addition to therapy, I offer immigration evaluations, clinical supervision, and professional consultation for therapists in Colorado and Arizona.

My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to move forward. If you're ready to begin your healing journey, I’d be honored to walk alongside you
