William N. Kelly, LMFT

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

I’m Will Kelly, and I’m on a path of servitude to fellow Men... Brothers... Fathers... Kings. I have a strong desire to usher men into themselves and learn to embrace the Strength within Vulnerability. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) dedicated to cultivating intimate spaces for Men to fully BE and acknowledge their truths without shame or judgment.

As a whole, we Men have NO guidance on how to connect with our thoughts and emotions and how to communicate them to others.  We have been emasculated in many ways through various sources and we are often lost in our minds to which we have no connection.

I represent the part of you who observes without judgment and delivers knowledge and as a King, you take this knowledge and govern your Inner Kingdom with divine order and blessing.  Your Inner Warrior will act swiftly under this order with clarity to protect the little boy within who is connected to the pleasure, joy, and playful opportunities this life has to offer...and what he has to offer this life.

Sincerely,

William N. Kelly, LCSW (CA,NC), LCSW-C (MD), MVF-CSW

Matt, a retired LEO after 15 years, is now a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 142991) and is almost at the 3,000 hour mark in order to test to be a licensed therapist in California.

Maggie Hernandez, AMFT

Associate Marriage & Family Therapist

Have you struggled to find a culturally-competent therapist who can hold space for what you’re dealing with? If you are looking to rediscover joy after living through incredibly difficult experiences, and want a relaxed environment with a straightforward therapist who treats you with compassion and respect, let’s talk. I understand starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and I know firsthand how strong the stigma around getting mental health support is. I offer you a space that is collaborative, nonjudgmental, and above all, confidential, and I blend empathy and warmth with humor and genuine curiosity to create an environment where my clients can heal from trauma, rediscover their strengths, and go on to experience post-traumatic growth.

My clinical focus is counseling first responders, combat veterans, those coping with addiction, survivors of mass-casualty events, and sexual trauma survivors. As the wife of a firefighter/paramedic and daughter of a US Navy veteran, I have personal experience with the unique challenges first responders and military members face, and I understand how those challenges can affect various aspects of not only your life, but the lives of those who love you. I consider it a privilege to work with those who selflessly serve our communities and the partners who support them.

Everyone’s needs are unique, so the therapy process looks different for each client. My therapeutic approach includes integrating eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), solution-focused brief therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and internal family systems. I see clients by Telehealth in CA, and if you’re local, we can meet in-person in Ventura. You can reach out to me directly either by email at mindmatterswithmaggie@gmail.com, or at 805-669-7892.

Ericka Paez, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Brain Health Coach

Ericka Paez is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Nevada (LCSW-C 10720-C) and California (LCSW 114412) as well as a Certified Brain Health Coach through the Amen Clinics. As a military veteran who served in the 82nd Airborne, spouse of a military veteran turned first responder, and now spouse of that first responder she brings a multilayered, experienced approach to understanding what you're going through which often helps demystify from multiple angles.  Her belief is that mental health is brain health and it all starts with understanding.

Ericka takes a 'whatever works' approach to therapy and believes in a holistic approach to brain health. She will dive into all the factors that can impact the way our brain works and create a detailed and individual plan to move forward including psychoeducation on brain health, science-based explanations of why we do what we do, and why certain treatments are helpful in addressing symptoms, to connect the dots for many of her clients in a way they've not experienced before. She most often uses cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive processing therapy, solution-focused therapy, and others in her work.

Ericka's focus is anyone who wants to know if they can improve their functioning and understanding through the Amen Way is welcome for a consultation. Her experience lies with those who are military veterans, first responders, spouses and partners for both of those areas.

She is also a former Division 1 athlete and blended families, divorce proceedings, being the parent of small children and an adult child, and chronic illness are all areas that resonate with her or she has direct experience within her own life and/ or family. PTSD is her main thing and she honors those who come to her to move through that and find the other side.

She welcomes clients who want to establish a connection with a provider before a crisis or serious occurrence happens so she encourages potential clients to think of her as a mentor or coach in areas of life such as increased stress, new family dynamics, promotions at work with new stressors, feedback on new or long standing relationships in order to fine tune before a bigger problem develops, processing how society is viewing your work (specifically, police but can be others). When trust develops in the smaller moments, it won't be so overwhelming to access her if, and when, stuff hits the fan!

Ericka's communication style is pretty direct, and she doesn't beat around the facts. She can flex to support those in various stages of change from looking to start to find answers, those ready to change, those stuck with other therapists, and those who think that sometimes therapy feels hokey! Working with her often feels like a breath of fresh air and she often hears "You're like a mind ninja!" or "How do you know that about me?" and has been called 'The Brain Mechanic.'

The main focus for each client is to increase self determination and capacity for decision making through an educated approach to their mental health. While she may have thoughts in her mind about what that may be, she will look to you to discuss what goals you are seeing her to work towards.

Diana On, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Diana On is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in CA. Her specialties include PTSD and ADHD. Diana is a former emergency child abuse investigator and continues to support other first responders. Diana’s brother, Eric, is currently on active duty in Kuwait and serves as a physician’s assistant.

Hi, I’m Diana and I help people with trauma recover from the impact of their experiences. I am also a former first responder and understand the complexities of having to find ways to heal while being of service to others. Years ago, I worked as a child abuse investigator and discovered that helping others can come at a cost and that cost, for some, is one’s mental health.

In certain careers, there is a complicated relationship of being personally fulfilled and taking great pride in the work being done while having to reconcile the toll that it can take on one’s own well-being. Constant exposure to traumatic situations and crises can lead to burnout, vicarious trauma, and compassion fatigue. It can look and feel like overwhelm, anxiety, panic attacks, withdrawal and depression but there may be more going on. It might be PTSD.

While I have training in trauma informed care, it’s further supported by my own lived experiences. I focus on developing safe, nurturing and authentic relationships and believe in partnering with you in your journey.

If you are interested in learning more, let’s connect. You can also read more about me and the services I offer at my website: www.dianaonlcsw.com

I hope we can work together. I’m here to support you.

Warmly, Diana

In working with Kate, clients have the opportunity to process difficult things seen on the job, implement stress management techniques, improve communication skills between partners and identify workable and actionable systems for personal and family self-care and connection. Kate is approachable and direct in her work as a therapist, she sees therapy as a collaborative process – one which honors your expertise on your life and experiences and values you as her teammate in the therapeutic relationship, as therapist and client work toward their goals. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Narrative Therapy in her work with clients and she has had 8 years of experience in both community mental health clinics, co-occurring substance abuse clinics, and private practice settings. Kate’s work is grounded in the belief that we all have the capacity to learn, grow, and understand ourselves more fully. She appreciates that to achieve that deeper understanding of ourselves that can lead to more fulfilling lives, we sometimes need a supportive environment and a skilled guide along the way.

Other experience and areas of focus in Kate’s practice include: infertility, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, communication and relationship struggles, major life changes and transitions, and grief and loss. She is accepting new clients and would love to hear from you if you are interested in getting started! It can feel daunting to do the work to find a therapist that feels like a good fit. Kate can offer a free 15-minute consultation call in order for you to get more of a sense of how she works.
